Aquarium Services Business for sale

  Fish                                      Fun                                 Future                            Florida

I started this business in 1980. I was 25 years old and an avid fisherman and windsurfer.
My interest in the aquarium hobby had led me to find my "niche".  I would say that it took around ten years to accumulate enough of a customer following that one could say I had a decent business underway.   The business has grown much since those days.
I really am a beach bum at heart!  Needless to say, I spent as much time enjoying the beach as I did in starting the business, but I noticed early on that I was able to support myself quite well and manage to provide support to both my child and my leisurely lifestyle.

The  aquarium service business is a perfect compliment to this lifestyle as you can set your own hours.

I often traveled to the Caribbean. In fact, during the next 20 years I would travel to the Caribbean and Mexico over 40 times!

This brings me to where I am today.   Contemplating the sale of my business and retiring.

I have created this expansive web site which (by the way) has netted me four new jobs in just the last 3 months!   The web site comes with the business including 2 years hosting!
The site took me over 10 months of late nights to finish!

Local pet stores are also happy to refer future business so these will continue to trickle in (as much as you want the business to grow)

Otherwise, no additional advertising is necessary.  I even pulled out of the yellow pages over 10 years ago as word of mouth and referrals were enough.  We have built a strong name in the area as the oldest Aquarium Maintenance Company in the area.

You are starting with a solid customer base with hand picked individuals and professionals who are easy to get along with.

Just show up on a regular basis and tend to the simple duties of removing light algae growths from glass, a little filter cleaning, a few easy water tests, etc....... and on to the next customer.  Every three months or so, each system gets a good clean out.  Corals or other decorations are rotated out and then, back to the simple routine maintenance.

Around 3 quick stops in the morning.. and 2 or three after a long lunch......... etc.
This is not a complicated or very labor intensive occupation.
Yet it is one of the highest paid within the industry.
It is interesting and provides a creative outlet that most professions lack.

So,  call if you wish to speak about your future... and my retirement! :)
